Educational Resources for Healthcare Providers
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to changes in our healthcare system that require creative adaptations around the country, and here in Indiana, to continue to best care for patients. Healthcare providers have been required to alter their standard patient care algorithms and procedures, and many are willingly stepping into new roles to help care for COVID-19 patients. Medical students have graduated early to assist, and retired providers have come back into practice. This enthusiasm and bravery is an inspiring example of how Hoosiers come forward to serve during crisis.
This curriculum was compiled as a resource for the thousands of healthcare providers in Indiana who have stepped up to care for patients with this novel and complicated viral illness. Though much is still unknown, reviews of the literature and previous international reports provide some insight into best practices in caring for this population. Providers can review the material from start to finish, or refer to specific sections when questions arise. With the abundance of rapidly-emerging information out there, this collection of materials is meant to be a concise and up-to-date guide for providers who are new to the role of caring for COVID-19 patients. Please also consider subscribing to the COVID-19 Daily Digest for updates on emerging and relevant literature.
This curriculum will be updated periodically as materials are developed and/or updated. If you have any resources you would like to contribute to this page, please email them to the WISE Indiana team at wisein@iu.edu.
