The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) Access Technology Program is starting a new technology-based seminar series. The purpose of this seminar series is to inform investigators how existing or new technologies offered by the core facilities at Indiana University, IUPUI, Purdue University, and University of Notre Dame could be useful in advancing their research.

The topic for the seminar on Friday, May 14 is, “An introduction to home-brew library prep methods for Illumina sequencing and critical factors to ensure success: ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, Hi-C, and CRISPR screening.” This event features the following service cores: Indiana University Center of Genomics & Bioinformatics, Indiana University School of Medicine Center for Medical Genomics, Notre Dame Genomics & Bioinformatics Core Facility, and Purdue University Bindley Core for Genomics.

In this webinar we will discuss popular applications that utilize home-brew library preps with Illumina Sequencing as a downstream readout. This will include an overview of epigenetic methods designed to look at regions of open chromatin (ATAC-Seq), binding sites of DNA-associated proteins (ChIP-Seq/Cut and Run), and detection of long-range DNA interactions (Hi-C). Additionally, we will look at how Illumina Sequencing can be used as an effective strategy in genome wide CRISPR screens for quantification of sgRNAs as well as methods that allow the detection of transcriptional changes observed in the enriched or depletion knockout populations.

Registration information is available here.

The seminars will be on the 2nd and 4th Fridays from noon to 1 pm, continuing through May.

For questions or to be added to a mailing list for seminar announcements, email Jill Reiter, PhD, Director, Indiana CTSI Access Technology Program.
