The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) Access Technology Program is starting a new technology-based seminar series. The purpose of this seminar series is to inform investigators how existing or new technologies offered by the core facilities at Indiana University, IUPUI, Purdue University, and University of Notre Dame could be useful in advancing their research.

The topic for the seminar on Friday, May 28 is “Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for Molecular Imaging,” led by Todd Sasser, PhD, Head of PCI Applications, Americas, Bruker BioSpin. The featured core facility is Roberts Translational Imaging Facility, Yu-Chien Wu, MD, PhD, DABMP, Director, IU School of Medicine.

The Bruker 9.4T magnetic resonance (MR) scanner delivers in-vivo/ex-vivo images with high spatial and temporal resolution. Parallel with any MRI method on this machine, the compatible PET insert offers high resolution, high sensitivity, and high quantification accuracy, allowing for simultaneous PET/MR imaging in basic research and translational medicine. Applications in multiple fields are available with these advanced preclinical imaging solutions, including, but not limited to: oncology, neurology, cardiology, inflammation, functional and anatomical neuroimaging, orthopedics, cardiac imaging, and stroke models.
