The June InJAC meeting featured Amy Nelson with the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana. Amy discussed housing challenges in Indiana, presented statistics on health and housing and how the two are related. Amy provided an overview of the Center for Fair Housing, their projects and how to get involved in making a difference in housing. There were thirty people present for the meeting. There was a lengthy Q&A after the presentation and the coalition lead will work with Prosperity Indiana which is a statewide membership organization for the individuals and organizations strengthening Hoosier communities to further the coalition efforts in ensuring healthy housing for Hoosiers with asthma. Prosperity Indiana’ mission is “Building a better future for our communities by providing advocacy, leveraging resources, and engaging an empowered network of members to create inclusive opportunities that build assets and improve lives.”  The presentation in its entirety and the recording are available.
