In this newly created role, Lynch will use best practices in visual communications to further the Indiana CTSI’s ability to communicate with its academic, commercial and community partners.

“This role provides opportunities to not only improve the design output for Indiana CTSI projects and initiatives, but to leverage the collective body of work as a cohesive, intentional, demonstration of our commitment to the public understanding of science,” he said.

Through this work, Lynch hopes that he and his team will elevate the role in design in the organization and in research as a whole.

Ten years ago, Lynch co-founded Research Jam (also known as the Patient Engagement Core) with Helen Sanematsu, MFA, Courtney Moore and Indiana CTSI’s Co-Director, Sarah Wiehe, MD, MPH.

Wiehe’s creation of this team, which focuses on human-centered design, “was a pretty wild idea in 2014 — one that has paid off,” Lynch said. “This kind of forward thinking is why I find working with the Indiana CTSI so rewarding, and what I look most forward to supporting in my new role.”
