Research Jam contributes creativity to four scientific publications in less than a year

Since January 2022, Research Jam has contributed to publications in four different scientific journals. Research Jam is an Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) program that engages patients, community members, care providers, researchers, and other stakeholders using human-centered design methods to understand and solve problems related to health and wellness.  

The publications were: 

Research Jam uses principles from human-centered design as a way of engaging with and learning from the people involved in the project. Research Jam does this by understanding the personal perspectives, needs, and desires of others. They attempt to solve the right problem by working collaboratively, making ideas, group thoughts, and creating visible solutions so that people can interact with their ideas.  

Research Jam’s contribution to the idea board above helped the study group make their publication possible in Contemporary Clinical Trials Communications 

Research Jam has also contributed in 61 research projects since 2014, these projects have spanned the translational spectrum, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Maternal and infant health
  • Substance use disorder
  • Cancer
  • Infectious disease
  • Genetics and genomics
  • Pediatric care

Their contributed efforts have resulted in 21 peer-reviewed journal publications since 2018.
