The Epidemiology/Study Design Core at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center provides epidemiological expertise and experience to population and clinical research (non-clinical trials), and education in epidemiology and study design.

We have substantial expertise and experience in genetic and molecular epidemiological studies in clinical and population settings. Examples include:

  • Research project development
  • Grant application development and grantsmanship
  • Case-control selection (why and how)
  • Case sample preparation and storage (avoidance of biased results)
  • Tumor and adjacent normal tissues
  • Interpretation (reverse causation)
