The Purdue Proteomics Facility (PPF) provides state of the art mass spectrometers for the characterization of proteins in complex biological samples including label and label-free quantitation, post-translational modifications (phosphorylation, glycosylation, acetylation), and the analysis of protein complexes and protein-protein interactions. As a shared facility of the Bindley Bioscience Center and the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, the facility provides scientists access to various chromatographic separations and highly sophisticated mass spectrometry platforms for conducting LC-MS/MS experiments. Besides operating mass spectrometers for research, the PPF provides a multitude of training services that include protein extraction for total and sub-cellular proteome analysis, MS sample preparation using both in-gel and in-solution digestion and targeted proteomic analysis using MRM/SRM or PRM methods. Additionally, the PPF also offers advanced bioinformatic and instrument training along with research support to investigators on campus and beyond. State of the art MS instruments available for research at the facility are listed below:

  1. Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid MS with CID, HCD, ETD, and EThcD capability
  2. Thermo Scientific Q Exactive Orbitrap HF
  3. Thermo Scientific TSQ Endure Triple Quad MS
  4. Thermo Scientific LTQ Orbitrap XL
  5. AB Sciex 5600 Plus TripleTOF MS
  6. Applied Biosystems 4800 MALDI TOF/TOF MS system
