Addressing the global health burden of intimate partner violence: Establishing Partnerships for the Pregnant Moms’ Empowerment Program in Mexico |

The Intervention |
The goal of the proposed project is to establish partnerships in Monterrey, Mexico to develop the project team for a future large-scale evaluation of the Pregnant Moms’ Empowerment Program (PMEP). To this end, the current proposal focuses on (1) facilitating preliminary work with key partners (i.e., hiring a project coordinator, planning a pilot trial with the Women’s Institute in Nuevo Leon) and (2) establishing the feasibility of the program in the context of Monterrey through a small randomized controlled pilot trial (n=70 pregnant women). |

The program is being implemented through a collaboration between the University of Notre Dame, University of Memphis and Universidad de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Various adaptations of the PMEP program are being implemented in the US, Mexico and Peru, with the team working with local partners and across institutions to produce cross-site learnings and innovation |
