The inaugural IU Brain Tumor Translational Research Day will be held on Saturday, December 3 from 8 am – 3 pm, at the Goodman Hall Auditorium at Stark Neurosciences Research Institute, 320 W 15th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Clinicians and researchers interested in improving the care of brain tumor patients are invited to attend.
Speakers will include:
- Dr. Milan G. Chheda, associate professor at Washington University in St. Louis with research interests in cancer stem cells, oncolytic viruses, and functional genomics of brain tumors, will be giving a keynote address.
- Dr. Michelle Monje, professor at Stanford University, with research interests in CAR-T cells, the role of synaptic integration in gliomagenesis, and clinical trials for brain tumor treatment, will be giving a virtual keynote address.
Local speakers will also be presenting on translational brain tumor research and treatments: Dr. Nuri Damayanti (IU Neurosurgery), Dr. Meenal Datta (University of Notre Dame Engineering), Dr. Sandro Matosevic (Purdue University Pharmacy), Dr. Jignesh Tailor (IU Neurosurgery), Dr. Michael Veronesi (IU Neuroradiology), and Dr. Charles Yates (IU Neurotology).
In addition to the talks, there will be lunch breakout sessions to encourage collaboration and focus on emerging areas in brain tumor research. There will also be a poster session for trainees to present their work.
