Investigator meets study enrollment goal thanks to All IN for Health

September 30, 2024

In 2020, Yvonne Lu, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN, launched her study, Promoting Reengagement in Daily Meaningful Activity (PRIMA), funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR). Exploring the best ways to support adults with memory concerns and their partners, Lu’s team had developed an intervention called “Daily Engagement in Meaningful Activities (DEMA)” in hopes of improving quality of life and positively impacting health outcomes for these patients.

Lu, a professor of the Science of Nursing Care Department at Indiana University School of Nursing, and her team turned to the experts at All IN for Health for help with recruiting participants in 2022. Over the course of the following two years, All IN would be responsible for recruiting 36% of the study’s total enrolled participants, and ultimately helping Lu’s team meet their recruitment goal.

“The All IN for Health recruitment team was instrumental in our study’s success, providing invaluable support and direct referrals of participants that helped us meet our recruitment needs and enrollment goals,” said Amy Katz, MPH, CCRP, project manager of the PRIMA Study. “Their expertise in promoting research studies on a statewide level is ever-growing, and they provided direct referrals of participants that rarely failed to meet our eligibility criteria. The team’s collaborative approach and excellent communication ensured that we met our enrollment goals in a timely manner.”

The All IN for Health team supports researchers with recruiting study participants through a variety of resources, including online participant-friendly study listings; referrals from a registry of potential eligible interested volunteers; and help with the design and deployment of outreach tactics, such as flyers and online ads.

Katz shared that the All IN for Health team celebrated alongside the PRIMA team as they met each milestone in recruitment, making the process not only efficient, but enjoyable.

“Partnering with All IN for Health was a game-changer for our research study,” she said.
