Founded in 2008, the Indiana CTSI brings together the state’s brightest minds to solve Indiana’s most pressing health challenges through research. The institute is a statewide partnership among Indiana University, Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame and numerous life sciences businesses, government entities and community organizations.
This year’s Annual Meeting will mark the Indiana CTSI’s 10th anniversary of improving health through research, with presentations focused on “the promises of gene therapy,” as well as scientific poster sessions, a panel discussion and valuable networking opportunities. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hine Hall, 875 W. North St.
Online registration is now closed, but those interested in attending are welcome to register in-person beginning at 8 a.m. at the event.
Attendees are encouraged to download the Attendify app and search “Indiana CTSI Annual Meeting” to access speakers, maps, schedules, poster session info and other event resources. You can also download a copy of the 2018 Indiana CTSI Annual Meeting agenda and access parking information online.
2018 Annual Meeting Highlights
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: JEAN BENNETT, MD, PHD
Dr. Jean Bennett is the 2018 recipient of the IU School of Medicine’s prestigious August M. Watanabe Prize in Translational Research. A professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Bennett is the physician scientist behind the first gene therapy approved in the U.S. to target a disease caused by mutations in a specific gene––in this case, the gene is RPE65 and the disease is blindness. She will share her translational research experience “from DNA through FDA.”
