A Note from the Co-Directors – September 2021

September 16, 2021

Indiana CTSI co-directors

Dear all,

The virtual Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute’s (CTSI) Annual Meeting is just over one week away! This is our 13th annual meeting, where researchers representing each of our partner universities will share findings focused on the meeting theme of Preventing The Smoldering Pandemic of Obesity and the Metabolic Syndrome. This year, you can expect to learn more about the state’s climbing obesity rates and prevention strategies that are being deployed against this pandemic and its resulting health crisis, known as the metabolic syndrome.

We are once again using the Attendify app to host this year’s meeting and because we want you to have the best experience possible, we encourage you to spend some time in advance of the meeting, reviewing the agenda and familiarizing yourself with the app . There are several enhancements available to us this year through Attendify including:

  • The ability to ask questions of the presenters through the chat function
  • Opportunities to engage with other meeting attendees via the activity stream
  • And, an innovative “MeetNow” function that allows live videoconferencing through the app, with all of the available research service cores.

This year’s virtual research rally will feature all of the research service cores who exist to help you enhance and enrich your research projects. While the Attendify app is available for use via smart phone and computer, we encourage you to use the computer version in order to access all of the app’s available enhancements.

We look forward to your engagement at this year’s annual meeting.

Sincerely,
Sarah and Sharon
Co-directors, Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute
