Do you know the signs of stroke?
The Connections IN Health coalition, the Cardiovascular and Diabetes Coalition of Indiana (CADI), is partnering with the Indiana State Department of Health, the Indiana American Heart Association, the Indiana American Stroke Association, and the Indiana Stroke Consortium to bring awareness around stroke in Indiana.
The purpose of Stroke Awareness Month is to highlight warning signs and common symptoms of stroke, and to provide the public with stroke prevention strategies.
Some warning signs of stroke include:
- face drooping
- arm weakness
- speech difficulty
If you are experiencing these symptoms, it’s time to call 911!
Other symptoms may include:
- sudden numbness
- confusion
- severe headache
- difficulty seeing
- difficulty walking
Although COVID-19 has raised global concern, it is particularly important to continue to seek care if you or someone you know is experiencing stroke symptoms. Help us raise awareness this month by spreading the word to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community!
