The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) Access Technology Program is starting a new technology-based seminar series. The purpose of this seminar series is to inform investigators how existing or new technologies offered by the core facilities at Indiana University, IUPUI, Purdue University, and University of Notre Dame could be useful in advancing their research.
The topic for the seminar on Friday, April 23 is “Light-Sheet Technology and Applications,” led by Christopher English, PhD, Bruker Nano Surfaces. This event is being hosted by the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility, Sara L. Cole, PhD, Optical Microscopy Core Program Director University of Notre Dame.
Light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) enables large-scale three-dimensional imaging at high imaging speeds with less phototoxicity and photobleaching. The Bruker MuVi microscope provides flexible illumination and detection configurations suitable for imaging samples from fields as diverse as cell and developmental biology, neuroscience, oncology, and plant research. In this presentation, you can expect to learn the advantages of light-sheet fluorescence microscopy and how this technique can be adapted to image a variety of live, fixed or cleared samples.
