This study summarized the case fatality rate of COVID-19 in Korea compared to other countries.
Different countries are seeing different rates of deaths and outcomes. This is partially due to differences in testing, and picking up more mild cases. South Korea has been doing more testing than pretty much anyone.
The global number of confirmed cases as of March 15, 2020, was 156,400, with an overall fatality rate of 3.7%. This study summarized the fatality rate in Korea from February 19, when the first death occurred to March 10, 2020. The overall case fatality rate of COVID-19 in Korea was 0.7% as of then. This may be due to differences in case identification, treatment, or the population.
